Environmental and Spatial Studies Centre is a central UP SRC infrastructural unit which acquires, preserves and intermediates spatial data. Moreover, it processes these data and uses them for production of charts and other graphical displays based on them. The Centre currently provides spatial-informational and cartographic support primarily for the institutes of UP SRC. However, it strives to intensify the cooperation with other members of the University of Primorska which collect, process and produce spatial data, and also with members of the University of Primorska which lack such capacities and thus need the Centre’s services.
Research is the core activity of the UP SRC, which is thus involved with numerous national and international basic, target and applicative projects.
